Each September, wine-producing villages all over Cyprus celebrate the end of the grape harvest. One of the most popular fairs is in Vouni, near Limassol, which is famed for its production of Palouze, a non-alcoholic type of blancmange made from grape juice and cornflour. Visitors to the fair can expect a lively mix of folk music, dancing, a street market and numerous food and drink stalls with plenty of opportunities to try the region's wine and a glass or two of Palouze
