Filmmakers, actors, artists, musicians and visitors from around the world head for Dubrovnik for the film festival. Visitors enjoy screenings, night showings and discussions in this beautiful and cultured city on the Adriatic Sea. The organiser's mission is to present Dubrovnik films of merit from around the world; films that will both inspire and entertain. A sense of international cooperation and friendly competition is engendered by the International Competition, with categories for feature films, documentaries and short films. Winning filmmakers and actors are honoured with the Libertas and Argosy Awards. The first festival was held in 2003 and has grown every year since then.
