With a screening programme of close to 1,000 films by filmmakers and directors from all over the world, this is one of the biggest events of its kind in the country. The festival is a juried competition with prizes awarded to winning films in four main areas of competition: the Jin Jue Award International Film Competition, Jin Jue International Film Forum, International Film Panorama and International Film and TV Market. The event was first held in 1993 and has grown each year to become one of the most eagerly anticipated events of its kind in the region.
