The international festival of "Teatro a Mil" has presented a varied programme of performance arts to the people of Santiago and its summer visitors since 1995. About 150,000 people enjoy mainstream, experimental, fringe and street theatre, at a score of venues throughout the central area of the city. A headline theatrical festival, it brings some 40-odd important works to the capital, from 30 countries. To bring theatre as close as possible to the people, a significant number of performances take place outdoors
