Canada's biggest country music extravaganza, the Big Valley Jamboree, is also a family occasion and a sociable four-day party. Concert-goers from around the globe gather at the 162ha (400 acre) mini village that springs up each year at Camrose, Alberta. Some of the best country music artists play on the main stage from morning until night in a laidback, friendly atmosphere. Trade shows offer all kinds of merchandise and there is a host of entertainments with bull riding topping the bill. Other distractions include the Family Stage, Songwriter's Workshop, casino, gospel jamboree, the fabulous Kick-Off Party and a big parade. On-site camping is available, subject to availability and strict controls
