In a natural amphitheatre in scenic parkland, the Edmonton Folk Music Festival offers world-class music at affordable prices. The best in Celtic, bluegrass, blues, gospel, roots, world beat and singer/songwriter music is showcased in the park, along with some country and R&B for good measure. Impromptu sessions are a feature, enabling performers to jam together in front of an audience, which helps produce strong festival dynamics and a unique musical experience. The usual format of warm-up act followed by star turn is rejected in favour of a balance of music traditions, combining the talents of quality folk music artists from diverse origins. The result is a banquet of music, with interesting line-ups offering something for every taste
