8/01/2008 - 8/31/2008Canada Remembers International Air Show
Saskatoon,
Canada
This air show began in 1995 and is dedicated to the remembrance of Canadian veterans of World War II, while also paying tribute to allied veterans. Heralded as Canada's largest annual Salute to Veterans, it has been instrumental in raising the awareness of Remembrance and attracts thousands of spectators and participants each year. The main attractions are the flying displays by Canadian Air Force Snowbirds, CF-18 Hornets, CH-146 Griffon Search and Rescue, CP-140 Aurora and Sky Hawks Parachute Team, among others. The US Air Force and civilian fliers also contribute, and there is a static display of vintage and modern aircraft on the tarmac. Besides putting on a grand show, the event succeeds in helping dozens of charities and community groups
