7/01/2008 - 7/31/2008Manitoba Threshermen's Reunion and Stampede
Austin,
Canada
All manner of steam engines and rustic agricultural buildings are conserved in the open-air at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum, the scene of the popular Manitoba Threshermen's Reunion. A rustic festival for all the family, entry includes access to all the exhibit buildings and much more. In front of the grandstand, a free show takes place each afternoon featuring a parade of vintage farm equipment, contests such as stooking and demonstrations such as sheaf tying. Gas and steam-driven threshing machines compete against each other, and a rodeo entertains the evening crowds. Events draw to a conclusion with a free open-air dance on Sunday evening. Fiddling competitions are among the many musical offerings. Parking is provided on site, with a shuttle to the showground, and camping is also available
