7/01/2008 - 7/31/2008Molson Grand Prix of Toronto
Toronto,
Canada
The former Indy event began in 1986 and was re-named in 2005 without changing the basic format: the best in international open-wheel racing talent coupled with a leisure and entertainment experience that includes merchandise sales, beer gardens, live music, beach volleyball and driver and celebrity autograph sessions. The event also provides a platform for developing young drivers, competing in support events scheduled over the race weekend. The track itself is a challenging 3km (1.45 miles) with 11 turns, over which more than 140 drivers compete over the two qualifying days. Beyond the track there are more things going on, such as race displays, pit stop challenges and interactive games at Motorfest in the National Trade Centre
