10/02/2008 - 10/12/2008Okanagan Wine Festivals
Kelowna,
Canada
Spring and Fall (autumn) are the main wine festivals in the scenic Okanagan area (but Summer and Icewine festivals also take place as well). The Spring and Fall festivals celebrate the experience of grape growing and harvesting seasons respectively. Both festivals offer visitors fabulous opportunities to sample the region's fine wines accompanied by equally delectable cuisine. The menu also includes vineyard tours, talks, lavish lunches and superb suppers. The Spring event is the warmer, more outdoor-oriented option, while the Fall festival holds out the promise of golden leaves and harvest celebrations. Okanagan Wine Country is charming at both times of the year and always offers a well-rounded experience in culinary tourism. For those who cannot get enough Canadian wine, there are also Summer and Winter Icewine festival packages available.
