Mission San Diego de Alcala is California's oldest church and it commemorates its founding with music, dance, games and food. Special events are the blessing of the bells, blessing of the animals and the anniversary Mass. The 'Fiesta' features non-stop cultural entertainment with live bands and dancers, a children's area with rides, games and activities, a rock climbing wall, llama rides, astro jump, Irish Bingo and Pokerino. Visitors can also enjoy professional pottery demonstrations and sale, a plant boutique, re-sale book area, raffles and prizes. And in addition to all the fun and games, there is also a huge selection of ethnic and American style foods on sale and an ever-popular beer garden.

Road: From downtown San Diego take I-8 east to Mission Gorge Road exit. Left at signal. Proceed on Mission Gorge. Left onto Twain Avenue. Twain Avenue becomes San Diego Mission Road. The Mission is on the right.
