Belgium's 10 coastal municipalities take part in this ground-breaking artistic experiment, employing contemporary artists to create a circuit of artworks in each of the Flemish seaside resorts. Statues appear overnight; installations and art works that link together, unfolding in a succession of surprising encounters. Around 600,000 visitors to the resorts have the opportunity to broaden their horizons by following the trails. In addition to the art outside, there is an indoor exhibition. The Museum of Modern Art in Ostend displays examples of work by all the artists chosen to exhibit in Beaufort
