From spring through until autumn, the cities of Flanders stage up to 150 concerts as part of its annual Flanders Festival programme. Mainly including classical music performances, the programme includes events of the highest calibre. Venues are carefully chosen for their historic and artistic atmosphere and include abbeys, cathedrals and city halls throughout the region. Antwerp alone assembles a programme of over 20 concerts together with a range of other activities such as workshops, interviews and lectures. Each city runs its own festival lasting several weeks, in a rolling programme that ensures there is always something going on in the region through until the end of autumn. The participating cites are: Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, Ghent, Kortrijk, Limburg, Mechelen and Vlaams-Brabant.
