In the walled city of Bruges a whole host of different events come together in a winter festival with a distinct Christmas theme. On the square in front of the railway station, an incredible ice palace is the setting for a fairytale that will keep children engrossed. Exhibitions include Christmas decorations and flower arrangements with many works by professional interior designers on show. On Market Square, the stalls of the Christmas Market are set out, along with a large ice rink. Just before Christmas, the procession of the Eastern Star is all about the Three Wise Men together with floats, animals and a choir. Wintertime concerts are held in the Concertgebouw and the Municipal museums lay on seasonal exhibitions. Shopping promotions, planetarium events and further concerts are all on the seasonal Christmas agenda in this historic port city
