At a time of the year when gardens are ablaze with colour, visitors to Barbados have a rare opportunity to visit some of the island's private gardens. Like gardeners the world over, Barbadian garden-owners are proud to show interested parties around their personal gardens highlighting the native flowers and particular specialities. The event is organised by the local Horticultural Society and participating gardens are open each Sunday in January and February between 1400 and 1800.
