Attracting close to 50,000 opera fans each year, Opera in the Park is a free event that takes place in San Francisco’s Sharon Meadow Park. Conceived to make opera more easily accessible to the general public, the inaugural event was held in 1971 and has become one of the most popular fixtures on the city’s summer calendar. Most visitors pack a picnic and a bottle of wine and settle in for an afternoon’s quality entertainment.
