Nashville Shakespeare Festival

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival extends an invitation to theater lovers to bring themselves, a picnic and a blanket to Centennial Park and enjoy the words of William Shakespeare brought to life. First held in 1989, the festival presents accessible professional theater to thousands of people. Each open-air performance is preceded by an hour’s musical entertainment, helping to set the scene for a memorable evening. Besides the festival in the park, The Nashville Shakespeare Festival offers workshops and training programs throughout the year and an outreach program aimed at promoting theater in schools.
