Most cultural events take place in summer, particularly during the Festival de Carthage. Listings of cultural events can be found in the local press. Tunis has a few good theaters, but the plays are in French or in Arabic. Théâtre de l’Étoile du Nord, 41 avenue Farhat Hached (tel: (071) 254 066; website: www.etoiledunord.org) has good plays and regular concerts. Théâtre d’Art Ben Abdallah, 6 impasse Ben Abdellah in the medina (tel: (020) 443 540) puts on good films and plays. There are several cinemas in the city center showing Holly- and Bollywood blockbusters dubbed in French, and one art-house cinema, Maison de la Culture Ibn Khalsoun, 16 rue Ibn Khaldoun (tel: (071) 241 901). Traditional music concerts often take place at Dar Ennejma Ezzahra in Sidi Bou Said (tel: (071) 740 102).
