www.lesarts.com) is the city’s principal performing arts venue. The nearby
Palau de la Música, Paseo de la Alameda in the Turia Gardens (tel: 902 204 020; website:
www.palaudevalencia.com), also produces classical music (plus occasional pop and jazz) concerts, opera and ballet.
The main theater is the
Teatro Principal on Calle Barcas
(tel: 96 351 0051) though all productions are in Castilian or Valenciano.
While there is no permanent dance space in the city; the annual
Danza Valencia festival takes place from late April to early May.
The
Filmoteca, Plaza del Ayuntamiento (tel: 96 353 9300; website:
www.ivac-lafilmoteca.es) is the best place to see VO classics, cult and foreign films. For mainstream movies, the spectacular
IMAX Cinema at L’Hemisferic, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias (CAC) (tel: 902 100 031; website:
www.cac.es) is the place to go.
