CityBus (StadtBus) 2 goes
at regular intervals (every 10 minutes, or every 20 minutes on Sundays and public holidays) between Salzburg’s main railway station and Salzburg Airport. The journey time is approximately 20 minutes. The airport is also well serviced by taxi companies.
Getting There By Road:Salzburg is easily reached by road from all directions. Several motorways (including the A1 from Vienna and Linz and the A2 and A10 from Graz and Klagenfurt) go straight to Salzburg. Route 20 reaches the city from the north and west, and Route 159 arrives from the southeast.

www.eurolines.at) is the main operator, linking Salzburg with some 60 other cities in Europe. The coach station is located opposite the main railway station (Salzburg Hauptbahnhof).
Getting There By Rail:Salzburg’s main railway station, the Hauptbahnhof, is run by
ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG (tel: 05 1717; website:
www.oebb.at) and connects several major rail lines, with frequent east-west trains servicing Vienna, Munich, Innsbruck and Zürich and several trains heading south through the Alps into Italy. Trains arrive from Vienna (journey time - 3 hours) and from Munich (journey time - 2 hours) every 30 minutes from early in the morning until late at night. From the station, buses depart to various parts of the city, including the Old Town (the Altstadt) and there is a taxi stand right in front of the station entrance. The station has a currency exchange, storage lockers, and booths for buying tickets.
Getting Around:Public TransportCityBus (StadtBus) (tel: 0800 660 660; website:
www.stadtbus.at) has a comprehensive
bus route network covering the city and its environs with around 20 routes in all. During weekdays, buses leave every 10 minutes between 0630 and 2000 and slightly less frequently early in the morning and late in the evening. Services are less frequent at the weekends, particularly on Sundays.
In addition to single-fare tickets, you can buy 24-hour cards and
Weekend Cards (
Wockenendticket; valid for up to five people) which are valid on the whole transport system in the city. For a stay of more than three days in Salzburg, it makes economical sense to buy a
Week Card (
Wochenkarte). There is also the
SalzburgCard, which is made especially for tourists and is valid for either 24, 48 or 72 hours. See
