Universal Orlando is a 364 hectare- (900 acre-) entertainment complex, encompassing two theme parks, a dining and entertainment complex, and on-site hotels. Universal Studios Florida, the original theme park which opened in 1990, includes modern TV- and movie-making facilities alongside its ever-popular rides and attractions based on films and television, such as ‘Men in Black’, ‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Shrek’. Universal’s Islands of Adventure is one of the world’s most technologically advanced theme parks with many themed rides. Universal CityWalk, a dining and entertainment complex, features restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, street entertainers, shopping, live concerts and festivals. Both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure also have many rides suitable for younger children, such as the interactive ET Adventure, part-designed by Steven Spielberg himself who is actually creative consultant for the entire complex.
