National Museum & Gallery Cardiff Overview

Cardiff's National Museum and Gallery brings together collections and exhibits from the fields of art, science and history. The museum's art collection dates back over 500 years and is one of the finest exhibitions in Europe which includes one to the best Impressionist collections outside Paris. The Natural History - Man and the Environment display includes the skeleton of a blue whale and the largest leatherback turtle in the world. The popular Evolution of Wales display brings visitors face to face with dinosaurs and woolly mammoths in an exploration of evolution in the region. The Glanely Gallery is the museum's interactive area that encourages visitors to get closer to the museum's collections with the help of the specialist staff who are able to help with specific questions and research. Visitors are able to wear a headset for an audio tour which gives greater details on 45 of the museum's most popular exhibits.
