Loch Lomond Overview

Loch Lomond Shores is an innovative visitor center that acts as a gateway to the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park (www.lochlomond-trossachs.org) on Scotland's west coast. At the heart of the center is Drumkinnon Tower which was designed by one of Scotland's leading architects, David Page. The building is built in the style of an ancient castle and contains a mix of attractions aimed at offering visitors a greater understanding of the natural and cultural heritage of the Loch Lomond area. The Legend of Loch Lomond film tells the story behind the song 'The Bonnie, Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond' which originated at the time of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion. There's also a family-orientated theater show narrated by a young otter. The National Park was the first in Scotland and contains the deep waters of Loch Lomond, the glens of the Trossachs, the Argyll Forest and the spectacular mountains of Breadalbane.
