Invernessshire (Highland Wildlife Park) Overview

The Highland Wildlife Park in Inverness-shire in the very center of Scotland opened in 1972 and is run by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland. Visitors to this stunning park are able to drive through a series of enclosures and natural habitats of the Main Reserve. There are also several walking tracks which visitors can explore. One of the most popular parts of the park is the 2 hectare (5 acre) Wolf Territory which is viewable both from cars in the Main Reserve and also from a raised boardwalk View Point on one of the walking trails. Other animals at the park include European bison, elk, Highland cattle, red deer and wild sheep. There's also an informative Visitor Center.
