Disneyland® Resort Overview

Walt Disney first conceived the idea for the park in 1948 and had originally intended to call it Mickey Mouse Park. Disneyland welcomed its first guests in 1955 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005. Today, the park is one of America's most famous attractions and undoubtedly California's most visited theme park. There are eight 'lands' in total: Main Street USA, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Critter Country, Mickey's Toontown and New Orleans Square. Some of the most popular rides include the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. There are also regular shows featuring such favorites as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy.
