Day 1-4

Istanbul

Tour the opulent Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque, and the Hagia Sophia.

Day 5+6

Van

Visit Van Castle. Take a boat trip around Lake Van, and visit the Armenian Cathedral of the Holy Cross.

Day 7

Dogubeyazit

Tour Ishak Pasha Palace, a striking example of 18th-century Ottoman architecture.

Day 8

Kars

Visit Ani, capital of ancient Armenia and the “city of a thousand and one churches,” which reached its height in the 11th century.

Day 9+10

Ankara

Fly to Ankara and tour the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Visit nearby Phrygia.

Day 11+12

Cappadocia

Explore Kaymakli, Pigeon Valley, and Uchisar Castle. The next day, visit Pashabag, or Monks Valley, then continue to Zelve, Mustafapasa, and Goreme.

Day 13+14

Kanesh & Sivas

Drive to the Bronze Age city to Kanesh. In Sivas, visit the 11th century Great Mosque of Divrigi, as well as the Gok and Buruciye medreses.

Day 15

Tokat & Amasya

In Tokat, tour Gok Medrese, then drive to Amasya.

Day 16+17

Ankara

En route to Ankara, view the ruins at Hattusa. Travel to the airport for your flight home or on to your next destination.
