Manchester-Boston Regional Airport
The main airport in New Hampshire is located three miles south of the city of Manchester. Though very close to Boston, this hub provides a good alternative to busy Logan International if there is a flight that fits your route. Nearly three million passengers fly into Manchester each year. The only carriers with regular service are Delta, Southwest, United, and US Airways. The busiest route is to Baltimore, followed by Philadelphia, Chicago, Orlando, Detroit, and Tampa.
The passenger terminal at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is open every day, 24 hours a day. It offers free Wi-Fi internet throughout and amenities on both sides of security. There are four restaurants to choose from including a sit-down pub and fast food joints. All the shopping is run by Hudson News Gift Shop, a comprehensive place with everything from gifts to reading material. ATMs can be found in two locations inside the terminal.
Ground transportation is provided by taxis and limousines, as well as Manchester city buses and Greyhound long-distance coaches. Many travelers opt to rent a car from one of the eight major firms on site such as Avis, Alamo or Budget. There are three outdoor parking lots and one covered parking garage, ensuring plenty of space to wait. The airport is located right off the Everett Turnpike, which allows for convenient driving to most destinations around southern New Hampshire.
Logan International Airport
New England’s largest airport is situated on the eastern edge of Boston, an easy international way to get into New Hampshire. Each year more than 28 million passengers fly into Logan from destinations all across the US and Europe. JetBlue operates the most flights with Delta, US Airways and American also handling a bulk of passenger traffic. Chicago is the busiest domestic route, followed by Atlanta, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. Most of the international flights go to London Heathrow, followed by Paris, Toronto, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam.
There are four terminals at Logan International, all interconnected by shuttles and moving walkways before security. Banking services and ATMs can be found in every area along with a good selection of restaurants and shops. There are spas and hair salons in Terminal C and B, and Wi-Fi internet throughout the entire airport. A Kidport in Terminals A and C helps to keep the young ones at bay and entertained while waiting for flights. The Hilton and Hyatt have nice hotels on-site.
There are many options for ground transportation between the airport and Boston, but to get to New Hampshire, it is easiest to rent a car from one of the nhe nine major rental companies. Avis and Budget have offices outside Baggage Claim to help you get on the road to southern New Hampshire, an hour and a half drive to the border.
