All year round, Lanzarote has a perfect climate for vacationers. Winter generally falls between the months of December and February with temperatures around 72°F and 55°F at night.

The summer months of June through August are the hottest of the year, but not unbearable. Temperatures range from 80°F to 86°F as the Calima winds from the Sahara Desert hit the island. Luckily, August experiences a northeasterly trade wind that cools the island.

Fall (October/November) and spring (March/April) boast warm weather about 77°F, and are generally less crowded than either summer or winter. Even the shoulder seasons get nine hours of sun each day, except in October, which is the rainiest month. Nevertheless, precipitation levels are still quite low compared to most of Europe.

Best Time to Visit Lanzarote

There really isn’t a best time to visit Lanzarote, as the island experiences excellent weather year-round. Even though winter sees the coldest temperatures, Lanzarote still boasts high tourist numbers, due to the holiday migration of Europeans. Hotels in December and January tend to have higher rates and low vacancy. The summer months are also great for a beach getaway with warm temperatures and endlessly sunny skies.

For a quieter escape, head to the island in fall. September and October are the wettest months of the year, but still only experience several inches of rain, which is not enough to deter holiday-makers in the least. This is the slower period of the year, so you will often find great deals on hotel and transportation.
