Liechtenstein is a landlocked country entirely within the European Alps. The high altitude and geographical location means this small nation has a relatively cold climate in winter (November to February) and mild summers (June through to August).

The cold weather and high snowfall make winter an extremely important season for tourism. Liechtenstein sees temperatures drop to below freezing much of the year, bringing heavy snow. The average temperature hovers around 30°F, although the mercury does frequently drop as low as -4°F when the bitter winds roll in.

In the summer, a milder climate is present, although there are many days that are cloudy due to the humidity of the country’s high altitude. In the hottest months of the year, temperatures can get above 68°F, but nighttime lows are still quite chilly, between 50°F and 60°F.
