Banjul International Airport

The only air travel gateway into Gambia is Banjul International Airport. Also referred to as Yundum International, it lies 11 miles from downtown in Yundum and offers direct flights to and from London (Gambia Bird and Thomas Cook Airlines) and other European cities like Madrid (Air Europa), Brussels, (Brussels Airlines), Frankfurt (Condor), and Casablanca (Royal Air Maroc). Air Nigeria, Arik Air and Senegal Airlines offer connections to Dakar, while charter services are also available by select airlines like Monarch, Mahfooz Aviation, Transavia, Neos, and Arkefly, which fly to destinations like Bissau, Amsterdam, London-Gatwick, Manchester, and Milan-Malpensa. There are no direct flights from the US.

Banjul International Airport has one modern terminal complete with restaurants, cafés, duty-free shops, and souvenir stalls. Local cell phone providers have desks before the security checkpoint. Air View Restaurant is on the top floor, while ground floor has a snack bar for quick bites. A help desk is located near the exit and an ATM, business center, currency exchange, internet, andpost office are also located inside the building.

A good selection of car rental companies are represented at the airport or there are tourist taxis located near the main gate to take you to your final destination.
