Arrive in the village of Paracas in the early afternoon. Your resort accommodation is set like a jewel on Paracas Bay, with distinguished architecture and a design that seamlessly harmonizes with the dazzling surroundings. Day 2

The Nasca & Palpa Lines

This morning, transfer to the Pisco airport and board a Cessna Grand Caravan sightseeing aircraft for a flight over the desolate plain of San Jose. Your destination is one of the world's greatest mysteries, the Nazca Lines.

These ‘lines’ are actually puzzling pictorial tributes to highland and jungle fauna. They depict coastal, highland and jungle fauna (whale, hummingbird, monkey, and spider) as well as geometric figures (lines, trapeze, and triangle). Viewing these 2,000 year-old drawings from the air, gives you a wonderful, full perspective of their designs.

The Nazca culture flourished between 50 B.C. and 600 A.D., studies suggesting their society suffered an environmental collapse derived from huarango deforestation. Your guide will relate the myths and theories of how these designs came to be, though no one knows the undisputed truth.

Next, weather and air-traffic permitting, your flight continues to the figured-scrapped hills of Palpa, near the Nazca Valley. The Palpa Lines are believed to predate those of Nazca, picturing animals and human figures and a prominent deity.

The remained of the day is at your leisure. (B)

Day 3

The Ballestas Islands, Lima & Depart

After breakfast this morning, walk to the pier of your hotel, and board the launch for a cruise to the Ballestas Island. Located approximately 45 minutes of the coast of Paracas, the small Ballestas Islands attract an impressive quantity of marine animals. See "El Candelabro" migratory birds, as well as Humboldt penguins, pelicans, sea lions and other species in their natural habitat. Enjoy great views and photo opportunities as they swim and jump close to your boat.

After the cruise, you are transferred back north to the Lima airport for your flight home or onwards to your next destination. (B)
