Location The airport is situated 8km (5 miles) southeast of Austin.
Airport News A new budget airline terminal is planned to cater for Viva Aerobus’ services to and from Mexico.
Driving Directions The airport can be reached from Highway 71, which leads southeast from Austin, off the I-183 and 10km (6 miles) south of IH-35.
Car Parking There is space for over 10,000 cars at the airport: in a covered short-term car park next to the Barbara Jordan Passenger Terminal, and in surface parking (car park A) and long-term car parks (car parks B-G) (tel: (512) 530 3300). Shuttle buses operate to/from the terminal 24 hours a day to all car parks.
Car Hire Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Fox, Hertz, National and Thrifty are all represented at the airport. Counters are located on the baggage reclaim level of the terminal.
Public Transport Road Bus: The Airport Flyer service (route 100) serves the airport and is operated by Capital Metro (tel: (512) 474 1200; website: www.capmetro.org). Taxi: Super Shuttle (tel: (512) 258 3826; website: www.supershuttle.com) operates a taxi minibus service from the airport and has a counter on the baggage reclaim level of the airport. Airport Facilities Money and communications: ATMs and postal services are available, as is paid for Wi-Fi Internet access. Eating and drinking: There are numerous restaurants, snack bars, delis, ice-cream parlours and bars. Shopping: The Market Place, inside the terminal building, houses most of the shops and restaurants. Other facilities: The terminal offers shoeshine booths plus a live music stage featuring local performers.

American Airlines’ Admirals Club and Business Center (tel: 1 800 237 7971 in the USA; website: www.aa.com) provides members with business facilities, including seating for up to 150 people, fax machine, photocopier, computer and printer, and computer ports for laptops. It also has two conference rooms. Continental Airlines Presidents Club (tel: (512) 530 1850; website: www.continental.com) also provides conference and business facilities. There is also a Business and Technology Center (tel: (512) 530 7900) equipped to handle business transactions, foreign currency exchange and airline trip insurance. The Hilton Austin Airport (tel: (512) 385 6767; website: www.hilton.com) offers business and conference facilities, with 18 meeting rooms available, including a ballroom accommodating up to 800 people and a fully equipped business center.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers Facilities include elevators, disabled toilets, accessible ticket counters and tables, lowered airport directories and Braille signage. Disabled parking spaces are located either close to lifts or to shuttle bus stops; shuttle buses are suitable for wheelchairs.
