Airport News Extensions to the Terminal and improvements to facilities therein started in 2007, with work scheduled for completion in 2009.
Driving Directions The main Swiss sector of the airport is accessible from the N1 airport motorway. From France, take the A40 (motorway) to the border and then the N1. In order to avoid Swiss territory entirely, drive direct to the French sector via Ferney-Voltaire, near Collonges on the D-984; at Ferney-Voltaire, follow the signs for Geneva and, just before Swiss customs, take the road on the right to the airport French sector.
Car Parking There are 265 short-term and around 4,700 long-term parking spaces, plus an additional 220 parking spaces in a dedicated French-sector car park, all with direct access to the airport. Car Hire Companies include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt in the Swiss sector, and Avis, National/Citer, Europcar and Hertz in the French sector.
Public Transport Rail: Geneva railway station is 300m (328 yards) from the Departures and Arrivals floors; all trains stop at central Geneva-Cornavin, in the city center (tel: 0900 022 021; website: www.unireso.com), and there are also direct trains to destinations throughout Switzerland and Europe (tel: 0900 300 300; website: www.sbb.ch). Road: Bus: Buses stop outside Departures and Arrivals. In Switzerland (tel: 0900 022 021; website: www.unireso.com), Unireso bus 10 runs to central Geneva, and bus 28 to the UN. Bus 23 connects the airport with Tours de Carouge and Fret. Bus services from the French sector connect to regional French towns and various international routes to destinations in Spain, Portugal and Eastern Europe. The Aerocar service (tel: +33 479 683 296; website: www.altibus.com) links the airport with Chambery and Grenoble, while the same company’s AeroSki Bus provides services from the airport to many of the French ski stations. Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport, departing from outside Arrivals, again, there are separate French and Swiss services.
Information and Help Desks Information desks (tel: (022) 717 7105) are located on the Arrivals level and in the transit area. The French sector has independent services. There are various tourist information offices for both Swiss and French regions, located in the Arrivals areas of each sector.
Airport Facilities Money and communications: Banks, bureaux de change, ATMs, a post office and mobile telephone hire are all available. Wireless Internet access is available in all public areas, and there is an Internet café in the railway station. Eating and drinking: There is a range of bars, cafés and restaurants. Shopping: Shopping includes duty-free, and goods available include watches, fashion, food and luxury items. Luggage: A porter service (tel: (079) 290 2023) is available. There is a lost property office on the public concourse (tel: +33 450 406 905, French sector, or (022) 427 9222 in the Swiss sector) and at the railway station (tel: 0900 300 300). Left-luggage facilities and lockers are available at the railway station. Other facilities: There are pharmacies, showers, a medical center and a nursery.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers The public areas and car park are fully accessible for wheelchairs. Assistance is available for passengers with disabilities. Passengers should request any special assistance when booking their ticket.
Hotels The NH Geneva Airport Hotel (tel: (022) 989 9000; website: www.nh-hotels.com), and the Mövenpick Hotel and Casino (tel: (022) 717 1111; website: www.moevenpick-hotels.com) are a short walk from the airport; alternatively, a shuttle bus departs for the hotel from outside Arrivals. Hotel reservations can be made via Geneva Tourism and AMDACO, in the Arrivals area.
