Location
The airport is situated 35km (22 miles) north of Riyadh.

Transfer Between Terminals
The terminals are all housed within the same building, connected by linking buildings. Travelators connect the International and Domestic terminals.

Driving Directions
Major roads to the airport are King Fahd Road, Al-Takhassousi Road and the East Interstate Highway.

Car Parking
Two large three-level garages are located directly in front of the passenger terminals, one on either side of the airport mosque, with capacity for over 11,000 vehicles; they are connected to the terminals and to the mosque by pedestrian walkways.

Car Hire
Several local car hire companies, plus Avis and Budget, operate at the airport. Counters can be found in the airport lobby. Please note: Women are not allowed to drive on public roads in Saudi Arabia.

Public Transport
Road
Taxi:
Taxis are the only mode of public transport available to/from the airport and must be paid for in advance. Authorised taxis marked with the airport logo are available 24 hours a day to the city center (journey time - 30 minutes). By law, taxis must have a meter and passengers should check this before setting off.

Information and Help Desks
Each terminal has an operations office, which provides passenger information; staff are bilingual.

Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Two 24-hour banks and a post office operate in Terminal 2 and there are ATMs in Terminals 2 and 3.
Eating and drinking: There are restaurants, snack bars and cafes throughout the airport, available 24 hours in both Domestic and International terminals. There are no bars (alcohol is illegal in Saudi Arabia).
Shopping: There is a selection of shops, including duty-free.
Luggage: Trolleys are available.
Other facilities: There is a first aid center open 24 hours and a mosque.

Conference and Business Facilities
Business services, including five banquet and meeting rooms for up to 250 people and audiovisual equipment, are available at the Sahara Airport Hotel (tel: (01) 220 4500), which is on site.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers
Facilities include disabled toilets, lifts, escalators, travelators and specially adapted telephones. Reserved car parking spaces are available. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should request this from their airline prior to travel.

The Sahara Airport Hotel (tel: (01) 220 4500) is located on the airport’s grounds. It offers 248 rooms and several restaurants. All major hotels have personnel at the airport and many hotels offer courtesy transportation to/from the airport.
