The airport is situated in Sainte-Marie, 8km (5 miles) east of St Denis, in the north of the island.
Airport News
Construction of a new light rail system connecting the airport with St Denis and St Paul is scheduled to start in 2008, with completion due in 2012.
Driving Directions
From St Denis and Sainte-Marie, take the RN2 and exit for the airport at the Gillot roundabout and follow signs for the ‘Aerogare Passagers’.

There is a public car park (tel: (0262) 488 019) for 1,000 cars directly across the road from the terminal building.

Airport Facilities
Money and communications: There are ATMs outside the terminal on the arrival side and a post office inside.
Eating and drinking: There is a gastronomic restaurant with panoramic views located on the third floor of the terminal building and can be reached via a lift outside of the terminal. There is also a self-service restaurant on the first floor, and two bars, one on each floor. A snack bar is located in the first floor boarding lounge.
Shopping: In the shopping area on the first floor there are newsagents and tobacconists as well as shops selling souvenirs and mobile phones and phone accessories. In the boarding lounge there are newsagents and tobacconists and a shop selling fresh fruit and flowers. There is also an automatic speed lab for digital cameras on the ground floor.
Luggage: For lost or damaged luggage, travelers should contact their airline. There is a lost property service in the public car park (tel: (0262) 488 019).
Other facilities: A room for worship is located on the first floor. There is also a play area for children on the first floor.
Conference and Business Facilities
A meeting room/exhibition area is available, while Internet access is offered in the first floor bar. Six meeting rooms for up to 200 people are offered at the Mercure Créolia Saint-Denis La Réunion hotel (tel: (0262) 942 626; website: www.accorhotels.com), about 6km (4 miles) from the airport.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers
Parking spaces reserved for disabled passengers are situated in the part of the car park closest to the terminal. The terminal is accessible for wheelchairs by the central pedestrian way. There are lifts to the upper floors in the terminal building. Every level of the terminal is equipped with toilet facilities adapted to people with reduced mobility and accessible by lift.

There are no hotels at the airport, but a number are available in St Denis, about 15-20 minutes away.
