The airport is located at Flesland, 20km (12 miles) south of Bergen

Airport News
A new hotel is under construction next to the terminal building and is scheduled to open in March 2007. The development will also bring 1,200 new parking spaces to the airport.

Driving Directions
Driving from the airport into the center of Bergen is straightforward. Head east on the R580 and then follow the road north to ‘Sentrum’ (City Center). It is well sign-posted. The drive takes around 25 minutes (depending on traffic).

Car Parking
There are 3,127 parking spaces at the airport. Garage and outdoor parking are both available. The garage is located close to the terminal and offers both short term and long term parking spaces. Long term parking is cheaper in the outdoor lots. For more information call EuroPark (tel: 5599 8210).

Car Hire
Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and National offer car hire from the airport.

Public Transport
Road: Taxi: Taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. Companies serving the airport include Bergen Taxi (tel: 07000), Norgestaxi (tel: 08000) and Taxi 1 (tel: 5550 0037). Bus: The bus journey to Bergen takes 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Airport buses (tel: 177; website: www.flybussen.no) depart every 15 minutes from 0800 to 2000, with less frequent services before and after those hours and in the weekends. The buses drop passengers at the bus station and at main hotels in town. A less frequent minibus service (tel: 9159 8113) takes passengers from the airport to Flesland Pier, from where fast passenger boats go to Austevoll, Sunnhordaland, Stord, Haugesund and Stavanger. Os Minibus Service (tel: 5630 9980) offers scheduled services to Os that correspond with the ferries to Tysnes, Stord and Kvinnherad.

Information and Help Desks
There is an information office/service center (tel: 5599 8155) in the terminal offering travel advice to passengers.

Airport Facilities
Money and communications: A bank, an ATM and currency exchange machines are available in the terminal. Wi-Fi access and Internet terminals are also available. Eating and drinking: Food and drink are available from several cafes, bars and snack shops throughout the terminal. Shopping: There are several shops at the airport, including a duty-free shop and shops selling newspapers and snacks. Luggage: Luggage lockers are available for hire from the information/service center (tel: 5599 8155). The center should also be contacted regarding lost or found items. A porter service is also available at the airport (tel: 5599 8240). Other facilities: Travel agency VIA Travel (tel: 5554 3630) is located near the main entrance. Baby changing facilities are available on all floors.

Conference and Business Facilities
There are no airline business lounges (only a comfort zone between the check-in area and security). The De Syv Fjell conference center (tel: 5599 7400) has telephone and fax machines and five meeting rooms for up to 35 people. The airport’s service center also offers fax and copying services.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers
Accessibility is good at the airport. There are parking spaces reserved for disabled travelers in the parking house near the terminal. Toilets and lifts can accommodate wheelchairs. Travelers with special needs are advised to notify their airline before traveling.

Hotels
Quality Hotel Edvard Grieg (tel: 5598 0000), Scandic Bergen Airport Hotel (tel: 2161 4400) and Thon Hotel Bergen Airport (tel: 5592 0120) are all located just a few kilometers from the airport. A new Clarion Hotel is being built next to the terminal building and is expected to open in March 2007. A covered walkway will lead from the hotel to the terminal building. This passage will also be accessible to wheelchair users. The hotel will have 20 rooms designated for disabled visitors, four of which will be specifically designed for wheelchair users.
