Location The airport is located 26km (16 miles) southwest of Rome.
Transfer Between Terminals A free shuttle service links the terminals with the long-term car parks.
Driving Directions The GRA ring road, which skirts Rome, leads to the A12 highway direct to Fiumicino; from here, passengers should follow signposts to the airport.
Car Parking Multi-story car parks A-D are directly linked to the terminals via pedestrian walkways; the long-term car park on the motorway from Rome to Fiumicino is served by a shuttle bus to/from the terminals. Covered long-term parking is also available. There are limited spaces at Terminal A and B for short-stay parking.
Car Hire Auto Europa, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Italy by Car, Maggiore, Sixt and Targa Rent all have desks in the Domestic and International Arrivals halls.
Public Transport Rail: There is a Leonardo Express train service running every half hour to Rome’s Termini Station (journey time - 35 minutes). Metropolitan Trains FM1 stop at local stations on the way to Tiburtina. Services also run to Fara Sabina, Poggio Mirteto and Orte. Road: Bus: Terravision Shuttle services run to Rome Termini daily, with connections to the metro A line at Lepanto. COTRAL runs a night service to Rome Termini and Tiburtina daily. Taxi: Taxis to the center are readily available; passengers should only take a licensed metered taxi.
Information and Help Desks Information desks are located in each terminal. APT provides tourist information desks (tel: (06) 65951). Information kiosks with touch-screen technology can be found in all the terminals.
Airport Facilities Money and communications: Facilities include banks, bureaux de change, ATMs and post offices. Internet access is also available. Eating and drinking: There are several bars and restaurants at the airport. Shopping: There are duty-free and other shops, including fashion, jewelry, perfumes and traditional Italian products. Luggage: A left-luggage service (tel: (06) 6595 3541) is available on the ground floor (International Arrivals) of Terminal C, open daily. The airport also has a lost property office (tel: (06) 6595 5253). Porter service (tel: (06) 6595 8364/4054) can be pre-booked. Other facilities: A First Aid facility is available daily 24 hours. A chapel, a prayer room and nurseries are also available.
Conference and Business Facilities The Atahotel Executive Center (tel: (06) 6501 0100) near domestic Gate A7 has waiting rooms, meeting rooms, rooms that can serve temporarily as offices, Internet points, fax and a copy center. There are also several airline executive lounges in all terminals.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers Disabled passengers’ lounges are available in all terminals. When booking a flight, passengers with disabilities are asked to specify the type of assistance needed. Parking spaces for disabled passengers are available at the long-term car park and on the first level of multi-story car parks B and C and the fourth level of car park D.
Hotels The Hilton Airport Hotel (tel: (06) 65258; website: www.hilton.com) is the only hotel on site; it is linked to the terminals and the airport train station by a covered overpass with travelators. Another hotel located quite close to the airport is the Holiday Inn Rome Parco Dei Medici (tel: (06) 65581; website: www.ichotelsgroup.com). It offers a shuttle bus service to/from the airport.
