Location The airport is situated 7km (4 miles) southwest of Grenada's capital, St George’s.
Transfer Between Terminals The Jordan Valley and the area around Aqaba is warm during winter (January-February) with chilly evenings, and extremely hot in summer (June-August). In the Eastern Desert, the winter can be bitterly cold and dry and the summer intensely hot. The central spine of hills can receive snowfall in winter and is cool in the evenings in summer. Rain falls between November and March.
Required ClothingLightweight clothes are advised between May and September. Thick winter clothes are essential for winter and a warm layer is necessary for cool summer evenings. Rainwear is needed from November to April.
Driving Directions From St George’s, take the Maurice Bishop Hwy and exit at Point Salines junction.
Car Parking Public car parking is situated to the east of the terminal building, with around 200 short-term spaces available. There are several parking spaces reserved for disabled travelers near the terminal building.
Car Hire Dollar has a desk in the terminal. Avis will come to meet customers at the airport. It is also possible to rent a car from big hotels and from local operators David’s Car Rental, Y&R Car Rental and Archie’s Car Rental.
Public Transport Road Bus: There is a bus from the airport to St George's, but service is irregular and most travelers prefer to get a taxi. Taxi: Taxis with fixed rates are available from the airport. Contact Grenada Airport Taxi Association (tel: 444 4925) and Progressive Airport Association (tel: 444 4040) for more information. Journey time to St George’s town center is about 10 minutes.
Information and Help Desks There is a tourist information desk, operated by Grenada Board of Tourism, located in the arrival hall before immigration control. Airport Facilities Money and communications: Money exchange facilities are available at the airport. There is a public telephone on the ground floor. Eating and drinking: Restaurants and bars are available in the terminal. Shopping: The airport has a number of shops in the departure lounge and on the public concourse. Duty-free is available in the departure lounge. Luggage: Trolleys are available. Other facilities: A first class lounge is available in Departures.
Conference and Business Facilities There are no conference and business facilities at the airport. The Rex Grenadian Resort, Point Salines (tel: 444 3333; website: www.rexcaribbean.com) has three meeting rooms and provides business services. Similar facilities are available at the Grand Beach Resort (tel: 444 4371; website: www.grenadagrand.com).
Facilities for Disabled Travelers There are adapted toilets and ramps in the terminal. Wheelchairs and reserved parking spaces are also available.
