Location The airport is located 8km (5 miles) north of Düsseldorf.
Driving Directions The A44 autobahn runs east-west past the airport with a dedicated exit, signed ‘Flughafen’. The A44 connects to the A52 north and the A3 north-south.
Car Parking There are several car parks available with direct access to the terminals. These are mostly short-term car parks, while the long-term cark parks are further away from the terminals. Reservation for long-term parking is limited to car park 2 of the car parks near the terminals. Parking garages 4 and 5 and parking lot 6 are connected to the terminal via the SkyTrain (journey time - 2 minutes). The first 15 minutes of parking in the underground car park P1 are free. Car Hire Car hire companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Sixt. Desks are located in the central Arrivals hall.
Public Transport Rail: Over 350 trains a day stop at the Düsseldorf Airport Rail Station, including regional, express, intercity and high-speed InterCity Express (ICE) trains traveling between the airport and a number of destinations in Germany. The SkyTrain connects the railway station and the terminal building. Underground: The S7 S-Bahn train connects the airport and Solingen-Ohligs. Road: Bus: The bus station is located in front of central Arrivals with a good selection of regional services. Bus 760 runs regularly to Ratingen Ost, bus 721 runs to Tannenhof via Düsseldorf central station, and bus SB51 runs to Kaarst-Rathaus via Düsseldorf-Nordfriedhof. Several other regional services call at the bus station by Düsseldorf Airport Rail Station. Taxi: Taxis leave from in front of central Arrivals.
Information and Help Desks Information desks can be found in Departures, Arrivals and at the Düsseldorf Airport Rail Station. The main information desk is located next to belt 6 in central Arrivals. Passengers can also phone the airport for information (tel: (0211) 4210).
Airport Facilities Money and communications: Two banks are located on the Departures level, and one on the Arrivals level. ATMs and public telephones can be found throughout the airport and at the Düsseldorf Airport Rail Station. Wireless Internet access is available. Eating and drinking: There are many bars, cafés and restaurants at the airport. Shopping: There are plenty of shops at the airport - from gift shops and fashion stores to food shops and duty-free outlets. Shops are open from early morning until late at night, seven days a week. Luggage: Porters are available (tel: (0211) 421 6888/6637). Left-luggage and a lost and found service are available on the first floor of car park 3 (tel: (0211) 421 2515). Other facilities: The airport has first aid and baby change facilities, as well as a non-denominational prayer room. A pharmacy and a dental practice are located in the Airport Arcades.
Conference and Business Facilities The Wöllhaf Conference Center (tel: (0211) 496 230) is located on Level 3 in the terminal. It has 24 conference rooms equipped with the latest conference technology and can accommodate small groups and large congresses of up to 250 participants. The Arabella Sheraton Airport Hotel (tel: (0211) 417 3719/20) also offers conference rooms for up to 230 people. There are many business lounges at the airport.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers The airport provides physically accessible facilities for disabled passengers, with the exception of the duty-free shop in Departures concourse C; wheelchairs are available on request. Passengers with disabilities are requested to inform their airline in advance of their requirements. Drivers displaying disability ID can park in any car park for free. The SkyTrain is wheelchair accessible.
Hotels The Sheraton Düsseldorf Airport Hotel (tel: (0211) 41730; website: www.starwoodhotels.com) is located on the roof of car park 3. The Holiday Inn (tel: (0211) 38480; website: www.ichotelsgroup.com) and the Novotel (tel: (0211) 520 600; website: www.novotel.com) are good hotels located within 10 minutes of the airport. There is an automated hotel service for local hotel information (tel: (0211) 172 020).
