The airport is located 19km (11.5 miles) north of Helsinki.

Airport News
The new Hilton hotel opened at the airport in September 2007. The airport has also expanded its shopping offer for arriving passengers from all destinations.

Transfer Between Terminals
The International (2) and Domestic (1) terminals are only 250m (274 yards) apart and are linked by an internal walkway.

Driving Directions
From Helsinki city center, drive north along Tuusula road (Hwy 45) and follow signs for the airport. From the west and the east, get on Kehä III (Hwy E18 or Hwy 50) and follow signs for the airport.

Car Parking
Indoor car parks are available near both terminals. P1 and P2 are close to the International Terminal; while P3 and P4 are close to the Domestic Terminal. P5 serves both terminals. Short-term, business and long-term parking are available (tel: (09) 8277 3200). Short term parking is also available in front of the terminals in P30 and P31.

Car Hire
Car hire companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. Car hire desks are located in the Arrivals hall 2 of the International Terminal 2.

Public Transport
Road: Bus: YTV buses to Helsinki city center (415, 451 and 615) depart from outside both terminals (journey time - 40 minutes). More services run to other destinations (tel: 0100 111; website: www.ytv.fi/journeyplanner). The Finnair City Bus (tel: (09) 818 503; website: www.finnair.fi) also runs to Helsinki city center.
Taxi: Taxi ranks are located in front of both terminals (journey time to Helsinki - 30 minutes).

Information and Help Desks
Information desks (tel: 2001 4636) are available on the Departures floor and Arrivals floor in the International Terminal, and on the Arrivals floor of the Domestic Terminal.

Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Two banks and several bureaux de change can be found in the International Terminal. ATMs are situated on all floors of the airport. Wireless Internet connection is available throughout the terminals, and there is an Internet café near gate 19 in Terminal 2.
Eating and drinking:
There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars in both terminals, including a 24-hour fast-food restaurant.
Shopping:
There are numerous shops at the airport, mainly in the International Terminal, including duty-free and a grocery.
Other facilities:
The International Terminal has a pharmacy, travel agencies and three baby care and play rooms with feeding and nappy changing facilities. There is a meditation room in the departure hall of the Domestic Terminal.

Conference and Business Facilities
The airport’s Congress Center (tel: (020) 762 9732) in the International Terminal offers nine meeting and conference rooms accommodating up to 140 delegates, with full audiovisual equipment, internet access and catering. The VIP Center (tel: (09) 8277 3117) has four VIP lounges, and three teamwork rooms, as well as a separate VIP President terminal for hire. The Scandic Gateway Hotel (tel: (09) 818 3600; website: www.scandic-hotels.com/gateway) on the services floor of the International Terminal features a private room with adjacent sauna, for 2-6 persons, while the Hilton Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Hotel (tel: (09) 73 220; website: www.hilton.com), with direct access from the terminal, has an extensive range of meetings and conference facilities with capacity for up to 350.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers
The terminals have been designed to facilitate the independent mobility of the disabled. Adapted toilets and spacious lifts can be found on every floor. Disabled parking spaces are available in front of both terminals and in the parking facilities. Information desks are equipped with induction loops. Staff has been specially trained to cater for passengers needing assistance. It is recommended to notify the airline of any special needs, such as use of wheelchair or oxygen tank, when booking travel. The airline can also look after unaccompanied minors, i.e. children traveling alone.

Other hotels close to the airport and with free bus transfer include the Holiday Inn Garden Court (tel: (09) 870 900; website: www.ichotelsgroup.com).
