Location The airport is located 37km (23 miles) northeast of Denver.
Airport News Expansion of the parking facilities is due for completion during 2008, while a rail link from Denver’s Union Station is planned to be built by 2015.
Transfer Between Terminals The automated airport underground rail system links the Jeppesen Terminal with concourses A, B and C in less than five minutes. Passengers can walk from the Jeppesen Terminal to Concourse A via a bridge connection over the taxiways.
Driving Directions The airport access road, Peña Boulevard, can be accessed via an exit off I-70 in east Denver. I-70 offers connections to I-25, I-225 and I-76. Peña Boulevard can also be accessed from the E-470 Tollway and Airport Boulevard in Aurora.
Car Parking There are many parking options at the airport (tel: (303) 342 7275) including two short-term parking garages, located just east and west of the terminal. There are more than 7,000 spaces in each garage. Uncovered economy parking is also available. Pikes Peak Shuttle Lot is located south of Peña Boulevard on 75th Avenue for long-term parking. Shuttles drop passengers off at check-in. The Mt Elbert Shuttle Lot is for overflow parking in a remote car park, also served by a shuttle. Valet parking is accessible via the Arrivals roadway on Level 4 on the east and west sides of the Terminal.
Car Hire Car hire companies include Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless and Thrifty. Service desks are located on level 5 of the terminal building. All companies provide a courtesy shuttle service to the pick-up car parks.
Public Transport Road: Bus: RTD Skyride services (tel: (303) 299 6000 or 1 800 366 7433; website: www.rtd-denver.com) depart from the east side of the terminal on level 5, serving five routes Taxi: Taxis, charters and luxury limousines are available to all destinations. General ground transportation information is available (tel: (303) 342 4059), and there is a counter located on level 5 (from which all connections operate) of the terminal for assistance.
Information and Help Desks An information desk is located in the terminal Arrivals level. Airport information is available (tel: (303) 342 2000).
Airport Facilities Money and communications: The airport has ATMs, bureaux de change and a post office. Computer data jacks are found at all pay telephones located around the airport. Internet connection facilities are offered in some bars and restaurants, and at kiosks on the concourses. Eating and drinking: There is an extensive range of restaurants, coffee shops and bars thrpoughout the terminal, which also offers fast-food, an ice cream parlour and cafés. Shopping: Shops include newsagents, gifts and other shops on the Arrivals level, while tax and duty-free shops are located on concourses A and B. Luggage: Luggage storage is available on level 5 (tel: (303) 342 5858), while a lost property office is situated on the level 6 (tel: (303) 342 4062). Other facilities: An interfaith chapel, health clinic and massage services are available on the Departures level. There is a children’s play area and a hairdresser on concourse B. Traveler’s Assistance can be found in Concourse B (tel: (303) 342 0400). A security wrap service is available on level 6, as can a health clinic.
Conference and Business Facilities The Qwest Business Center (tel: (303) 317 0988) is located on concourse B, offering numerous workstations and online services.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers Shuttle buses with wheelchair lifts operate between the outlying car parks and the terminal. Disabled spaces are available in all parking garages and car parks close to the airport. Other facilities include accessible toilets and TTY telephones for people with hearing impairments. Wheelchair transportation information can be found on the airport’s website.
Hotels There are no hotels on the airport site, but proposals have been sought for development of a 500-bedroom four-star property at the Jeppesen Terminal.
