Location The airport is located 5km (3 miles) northwest of Burbank and 20km (12 miles) north of Los Angeles.
Airport News The airport was officially renamed Bob Hope Airport on 17 December 2003, the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers’ first flight and the year that Hope was born. Current renovation work includes provision of a new ’valet center’ offering a covered arrival/departure area outside the airport terminal building.
Transfer Between Terminals Terminals A and B are housed in the same building and are within walking distance of each other.
Driving Directions The airport is the closest airport to Hollywood and central Los Angeles. The airport is located on Hollywood Way, which can be accessed via the Golden State Freeway I-5. From Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles, take Hollywood Hwy-101 northbound, which leads into Hollywood Hwy-170. Turn right into Victory Boulevard and then left into Hollywood Way. Car Parking Short-term parking is available at a four-story car park opposite the airport entry road, in front of the main terminal; all vehicles entering short-term and valet parking are subject to a search. Long-term parking is available at economy car parks A, B, C and D, and there is a free shuttle between the economy car parks and the terminal building. To check space availability in the parking lots, call (818) 565 1308. Valet parking (tel: (818) 260 9602) is available from directly in front of the main terminal entrance.
Car Hire Car hire desks are located in Terminal B baggage reclaim. Alamo, Avis, Hertz and National are all on-site. Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Thrifty and others are all located off the airport site and can be reached by shuttle minibuses, which run on a semi-scheduled basis and are available via courtesy telephones located in both baggage reclaim areas. Hertz is also located at the nearby railway station.
Public Transport Rail: Local commuter trains, Metrolink (tel: 1 800 371 5465; website: www.metrolinktrains.com) and Amtrak (tel: 1 800 872 7245; website: www.amtrak.com) both serve the airport station, which is situated on Empire Avenue, at the south entrance to the airport. The station is within walking distance, but an airport tram shuttles passengers the short distance to the station. Metrolink services run regularly to Los Angeles Union Station and other destinations, while the Amtrak ‘Pacific Surfliner’ train travels between San Diego and San Luis Obispo and stops at Bob Hope Airport 10 times daily (five northbound, five southbound). The five southbound trains stop at LA Union Station and four continue on to Orange County and San Diego. After departing Bob Hope, the northbound Pacific Surfliner stops in Camarillo, Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. Road: Bus: The airport is served by MTA public buses (tel: 1 800 266 6883; website: www.mta.net), which run to Hollywood (bus 163), Burbank (bus 165) and downtown Los Angeles (bus 94). Taxi: Taxis and shuttles are available from the airport, departing from the islands in front of the terminal building.

Airport Facilities Money and communications: A bank is situated at the main entrance on Hollywood Boulevard, near the economy car park C. There are ATMs located around the terminal. Eating and drinking: There are various snack bars and restaurants. Shopping: There are various gift shops within the terminal, including newsagents. Luggage: There is a lost property service (tel: (818) 840 8830). Other facilities: There are several rest rooms at the airport and also a shoeshine service.
Conference and Business Facilities There are two conference rooms available to the public on a pre-arranged basis; reservations can be made through the airport’s Operations Department (tel: (818) 840 8833). The Glendale Room accommodates 12-15 people and the Skyroom can seat 195 people. Both are hired by the hour or in three-hour blocks. The nearby Hilton Burbank Airport & Convention Center (tel: (818) 843 6000) offers extensive business and conference facilities.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers Services for the disabled include TDD phones located at gates A1, A6, B3 and the Terminal B lobby. Lifts are available to board aircraft, and wheelchair accessible shuttles link the long term car parks with the terminal.
