The airport is located 20km (13 miles) northeast of the city of Singapore.

Airport News

Major upgrading work, due for completion in 2011, is currently taking place in Terminal 1. Areas being enhanced include the exterior facade, check-in and Arrivals. The Budget Terminal was recently expanded to accommodate the growing number of low-cost airlines serving Changi.

Transfer Between Terminals

A free Skytrain service runs frequently between the terminals. A free shuttle bus operates between Terminal 2 and the budget airline terminal.

Driving Directions

The East Coast Parkway electronic toll road runs straight between the airport and Singapore City Center. Cash cards for Electronic Road Pricing can be purchased from car hire companies at the airport.

Car Hire

Avis has car rental counters in all terminals, while Hertz has offices in Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 only.

Public Transport

Bus: Frequent public bus services (route 36) leave the bus stations located in the basements of terminals 1, 2 and 3. Exact change is required, and there are changing machines in the Arrivals halls in both terminals. The Ground Transportation Center is situated in the Arrivals hall of Terminal 1 and provides information on all forms of transport to/from the airport. Journey time is about 60 minutes. A regular coach service leaves the airport for Johor Bahru, across the causeway in Malaysia. Taxi: Taxi ranks are situated outside the Arrivals hall and are available 24 hours a day. Six-seater Maxi Cab taxis run an airport shuttle service between the airport and any hotel in Singapore (except Le Meridien Changi and hotels in Sentosa), as well as the central business district.

Rail: The MRT (tel: 1 800 336 8900; www.smrt.com.sg) station is located in Terminal 2. It takes about 27 minutes to reach the city from the airport by train. Passengers heading to the airport are advised to note the names of the terminal stations (Pasir Ris or Changi Airport).

Car Parking

The airport has four car parks offering various tolls for short and longer stays. Car Park 1 has 900 spaces for cars and 100 for motorcycles; it serves Terminal 1. Car Parks 2B and 2A are multi-story car parks with 2,600 spaces for cars and 600 for motorcycles; these serve Terminal 2. Car Parks 3B and 3A have 1,700 spaces for cars and 130 for motorcycles and serve Terminal 3. A smaller facility is located outside the Budget Terminal.

Information and Help Desks

Information counters can be found in several locations in all terminals. Help telephones and touch-screen information kiosks are also available throughout the airport. Passengers can also submit enquiries in advance through the airport's website.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: Bureaux de change are open 24 hours a day. Wireless Internet is available at various points in the airport, and free Internet kiosks are available in the transit lounges in both terminals. All local phone calls made within the Departures/transit areas are free. There are postal services available in all terminals. Fax and telegram services are available in Terminal 2.
Eating and drinking: The airport has restaurants, cafés, bars, delis, fast-food outlets and snack bars, offering Western and Asian cuisine; many are open 24 hours.
Shopping: There are several shops at the airport, including duty-free and a 24-hour mini-supermarket in all terminals.
Luggage: Left luggage is available in all terminals. The information and customer service counters in both terminals can be approached about lost or found items.
Other facilities: These include medical clinics, a 24-hour medical center (tel: 6543 1118 or 6543 2223 (for emergency)) and pharmacies. There is also a swimming pool, spa, showers, massage and a fitness center, as well as multi-faith prayer rooms and hair and beauty services. Baby change rooms and children’s play areas are also available; most female toilets have baby change facilities. The airport also has several attractive themed gardens.

Conference and Business Facilities

There are business centers located in the transit hotels (tel: 6542 5538 for Terminal 1; 6542 8122 for Terminal 2; or 6823 5300 for Terminal 3). Facilities include workstations with modems, photocopying, fax machines and meeting rooms. Secretarial and translation services are also available upon request. The iConnect Center in Terminal 2 offers video conferencing facilities and Internet access. Meeting rooms are available at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (tel: 6823 5300; www.ichotelsgroup.com) adjacent to Terminal 3.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers

The airport has level access, lifts, ramps, accessible toilets and a 24-hour wheelchair hire service at the medical centers (tel: 6543 1118). Passengers requiring special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.
