Location

The airport is located 15km (9.5 miles) northeast of Ahmedabad and about 20km (12.5 miles) south of Gandhinagar. Ahmedabad Railway Station and Central Bus Station are 8km (5 miles) from the airport.

A direct metro extension link between Ahmedabad city center and the airport is presently at an early planning stage.

Car Hire

Local car hire companies have offices on the Arrival side of the domestic terminal. Hertz (tel: (079) 30997543; www.hertz.com) also offers chauffeured cars for hire. In India, most hire cars come with a driver.

Public Transport

Bus: There is a city bus service but it is fairly limited. Taxi: A prepaid taxi counter can be found at the airport, operated by the Taxi Drivers Association. Taxis run from outside Arrivals at the domestic terminal.

Car Parking

There are 672 car parking spaces at the international terminal, and 1,167 at the domestic terminal. More car parking facilities are under construction.

An information desk is located in the international terminal. There are also tourist information counters.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: There is a bank and a bureau de change in the International Terminal.
Shopping: A variety of shops are available throughout the airport, including a branch of Bombay Stores, a newsagent and a shop selling local handicrafts. A duty-free shop is available in the International Terminal.
Eating and drinking: There are several juice and snack bars located throughout the airport.
Luggage: Trolleys are available, and there is a lost and found office.
Other facilities: There are rest rooms for transit passengers in the International Terminal (tel: (079) 286 9266).

Conference and Business Facilities

There are no conference or business facilities at the airport, but the nearby Taj Residency (tel: (079) 6666 1234or 2286 9999; www.tajhotels.com) has extensive facilities, including a business center, broadband Internet access, fax, printing and scanning facilities, laptop hire, workstations and secretarial services.
