A 13-year project to replace the existing terminal facilities with two new buildings, and to add an extra runway, was approved late in 2010.

Driving Directions

From Philadelphia city center, take Interstate 95 (I-95) south to the airport exit, or I-76 east following signs for the airport.

Car Hire

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz and National have desks in Zone 2 outside baggage claim areas. Information phones are also available in baggage claim areas for on-airport car rental agencies.

Public Transport

Bus: A number of operators offer shuttle van services to and from the airport. Contact Ground Transportation Information (tel: (215) 937 6958) for details.

Taxi: Taxis are available 24 hours from Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway; there are also shuttle van/limousine services, available from Zone 7 on the same roadway. Information on ground transportation is available in the baggage reclaim areas (tel: (215) 937 6958).
Rail: Southeastern Pennsylvania Transport Authority (SEPTA) (tel: (215) 580 7800; www.septa.org) operates the R1 high speed rail line running between each terminal and central Philadelphia. Journey time is around 35 minutes, and the fare is $7). SEPTA also provides transport to Amtrak's 30th Street Station and the Greyhound Bus Terminal.

Car Parking

Hourly, daily and long-term garage parking is available in car parks in front of all terminals; short-term parking is available on the ground level. Economy parking is available at the east end of the airport, which is serviced by a free 24-hour shuttle service. Information and Help Desks

Airport Information counters are located in all terminals. General 24-hour information and language assistance is available from the Airport Communications Center (tel: (215) 937 6937or TDD (215) 937 6755), by using any of the white telephones located throughout the airport or by speaking to a receptionist at the passenger assistance counter in the Terminal A baggage claim area.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: ATMs, bureau de change and self-service postal centers are all available at the airport. Data ports and Wireless Internet access are available in all terminals.
Eating and drinking: There are many restaurants and cafés situated throughout the airport.
Shopping: The shopping opportunities at the airport are plentiful. Duty-free shopping is available in Terminal A-East and A-West.
Luggage: A lost property service is available (tel: (215) 937 6888).
Other facilities: These include medical facilities, a hospitality service for passengers stranded during emergencies and baby-change facilities. A few shoe-shine stands are also available, and there is a popular aviation play station for kids.

Conference and Business Facilities

The UPS Store, located on the Terminal A/B connector, offers copying, faxing, shipping and related services for business travelers. The Airport Marriott (tel: (215) 492 9000; www.marriott.com), which can be accessed via the Terminal B pedestrian bridge, has data ports available for public use. America's Cash Express on the A/B Connector offers faxing and notary public services.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers

These include lifts, elevators, accessible toilets, amplified and TDD telephones, Braille signage and raised numbering on lifts and ATMs. The airport produces a special information leaflet, Getting Around, which can be sent to disabled travelers (tel: (215) 937 5499). Disabled parking is available and all shuttle buses have wheelchair lifts. Hand-controlled vehicles can be hired from all the car rental agencies at the airport. Passengers requiring wheelchairs should contact the airport and inform their airlines prior to travel.
