Airport News

The Port Authority of New York, which owns the airport, has commissioned in 2010 a feasibility study into the complete demolition and rebuilding La Guardia, which has suffered from poor customer satisfaction statistics in recent years.

Driving Directions

From Manhattan, take Grand Central Parkway East; from Long Island, take Grand Central Parkway West. The airport is signposted.

Public Transport

Bus: There are many buses which run from the airport to all areas of New York. New York Airport Service Express Bus services (tel: (212) 875 8200; www.nyairportservice.com) operate to Grand Central, JFK airport and midtown Manhattan/West Side. The M60 service (tel: (718) 330 1234; www.mta.info) connects LaGuardia with Manhattan and the subway lines, while the Q48 serves Flushing. Shared-ride services also run door-to-door services on demand. Ground transportation information is available in the Arrivals areas of all terminals. Taxi: Official yellow taxis are readily available in front of all terminals.

Car Parking

The airport has 7,500 public car parking spaces. Short-term and daily parking is available in car parks 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Long-term parking is available in car park 3, although there are limited spaces. Additional long-term car parking is located in private off-airport sites, which are very close to the airport and can be accessed by following the 'P' signs at the airport exit. Metered parking is available at the Marine Air Terminal. Free shuttle buses run regularly between the car parks and the terminals. Call for further parking information (tel: (718) 533 3850).

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: ATMs are located in all terminals. Bureaux de change can be found in the Central Terminal, the US Airways Terminal and the Delta Terminal. Wireless Internet is available in the Central Terminal.
Eating and drinking: There are many restaurants, bars and fast-food outlets in all terminals.
Shopping: Duty-free shops are located in the Central and Delta Terminals. Newsagents are located in all terminals. Other shops, such as gift shops and bookstores, are located in the Central, Delta and US Airways Terminals.
Luggage: All left-luggage facilities are currently suspended at the airport. Trolleys are available in the Delta Terminal. A lost property service is available (tel: (718) 533 3988).
Other facilities: The airport has a medical and dental service and a family assistance restroom.

Conference and Business Facilities

Business and conference facilities are located in the Laptop Lane business center (tel: (718) 424 1301) at the Central Terminal. Eight individual cubicles and a conference room for 12 people are available; all are equipped with desktop computers, a five-line telephone, fax machine, laser printer and data ports. Fax and Internet services are also available at the Business Traveler Center located in the Central Terminal. American Express operates a business center in the Marine Terminal. Wireless Internet access is available. Meetings and conference facilities are also available at the airport hotels.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers

The airport is fully accessible to disabled travelers and is equipped with ramps, lifts, disabled toilets and TDD phones. Unaccompanied disabled passengers should inform their airline in advance of any special assistance they may need. All car parks have dedicated disabled spaces.
