Location
The airport is situated 32km (20 miles) northwest of Kansas City.
Transfer Between Terminals
Red shuttle buses provide transportation between terminals and to/from the circle car parks.
Driving Directions
From Kansas City or the south and east, take I-29 heading northeast and turn onto Cookingham Drive to the airport. From the north and west, take I-435, turn onto I-29 and take Cookingham Drive to the airport.
Car Hire
Companies include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless and Thrifty. The car hire area is situated between the Marriott Hotel and the economy car park.
Public Transport
Bus: The Metro Bus provides services to central Kansas City from the stands located outside the terminals. Shuttle: SuperShuttle buses (tel: 1 800 258 3826, in the USA; ) serve Kansas City and local areas; desks are located in all terminals. A number of other shuttle service providers are also available. Taxi: Taxis are available via courtesy telephones located both inside and outside the terminal at each baggage reclaim area.
Car Parking
Short- and long-term garage parking is available in each terminal, with the garage connected to the terminals via walkways; circle parking is located between terminals and there is also an economy car park with 15,000 spaces. The car park is divided into three sections corresponding to a terminal (car park A for Terminal A etc) and each section is served by a separate shuttle route (blue bus) to the specific terminal. There are also free shuttles (red bus) between the circle car parks and the terminals. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes. For more information on parking call (816) 243 5870.
Information and Help Desks
Courtesy telephones located throughout the airport provide an information service. The airport information service can be contacted in advance (tel: (816) 243 5237). Information kiosks are located at the bus shelters in the new economy car park, and ambassadors are also on hand to provide assistance.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Bureaux de change and other banking facilities are available at the business center at Terminal A. ATMs and Internet access, including free Wi-Fi, are available throughout the airport. There is an on-site post office at 156 Paris Street.
Eating and drinking: Restaurants, bars, coffee shops and fast-food facilities can be found throughout the terminals.
Shopping: Various shops are available throughout the terminal.
Luggage: Lost and found is situated in the Airport Police building (tel: (816) 243 5219); queries can be made via the white courtesy telephones. Lockers are not available.
Other facilities: These include a first aid center and family toilets.
Conference and Business Facilities
There are self-service business facilities at the business centers in all terminals. The on-site Marriott Hotel (tel: (816) 464 2200; www.marriott.com) has a fully equipped business center, as well as a number of rooms for meetings, including four salons, a pavilion and a ballroom accommodating up to 650 delegates.
Facilities for Disabled Travelers
The terminal is fully accessible with lifts, TTD telephones, Braille signage and adapted toilets. Disabled car parking spaces are available and shuttles are wheelchair-accessible. Wheelchairs should be requested in advance from the airline.
