Airport News

Plans were approved in August 2010 for construction of a new US$120 million (£75 million) integrated transport center, facilitating seamless transfers between air, rail and road transportation. It is due to open in 2012, and access from the terminals will be via covered walkway.

Transfer Between Terminals

Terminals A and B are housed in the same building and are within walking distance of each other.

Driving Directions

The airport is the closest airport to Hollywood and central Los Angeles. The airport is located on Hollywood Way, which can be accessed via the Golden State Freeway I-5. From Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles, take Hollywood Highway-101 northbound, which leads into Hollywood Hwy-170. Turn right into Victory Boulevard and then left into Hollywood Way.

Car Hire

Car hire desks are located in Terminal B baggage reclaim. Alamo, Avis, Hertz and National are all on-site. Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Thrifty and others are all located off the airport site and can be reached by shuttle minibuses, which run on a semi-scheduled basis and are available via courtesy telephones located in both baggage reclaim areas. Hertz is also located at the nearby railway station.

The station is within walking distance, but an airport tram shuttles passengers the short distance to the station. Metrolink services run regularly to Los Angeles Union Station and other destinations, while the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train travels between San Diego and San Luis Obispo and stops at Bob Hope Airport 10 times daily (five northbound, five southbound).
