Location

The airport is located 27km (17 miles) northwest of Toronto.

Airport News

The airport went through a major period of change and reconstruction between 2000 and 2008, which saw major terminal expansion and improvement, plus inauguration of the LINK train connecting the terminals with parking areas.

Transfer Between Terminals

The airport's LINK train offers free transportation between Terminal 1, Terminal 3, and the Sheraton Gateway Hotel. The train runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is wheelchair accessible.

Driving Directions

From Downtown Toronto, follow the Gardiner Expressway to Highway-427 North, from which the airport is clearly signposted.

Car Hire

Avis, Budget, Dollar/Thrifty, Hertz and National/Alamo are represented at both terminals. Discount and Enterprise are among the companies located outside of the airport. Courtesy vans take customers to the offices outside the airport; this service must be arranged prior to arrival.

Public Transport

Bus: Public bus services are provided by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) (tel: (416) 393 4636; www3.ttc.ca). The 192 Airport Rocket provides an all-day accessible service between the airport and the Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway (journey time: 20 minutes), from where travelers can take the subway to downtown Toronto. The Airport Express (tel: 1 800 387 6787; www.torontoairportexpress.com) is a 24-hour service running to downtown Toronto and several major hotels, journey time is around 45 minutes. There are other bus and coach services to Toronto and surrounding areas. Information is available from the ground transportation desks in the Arrivals hall of each terminal.

Taxi: The tariff for taxis and limousines to/from the airport is based on metered rates, with updated tariffs and company listings available on the airport website.

Car Parking

There are more than 11,000 parking spaces at the airport. Terminal 1 has 9,000 spaces in a parking garage. Terminal 3 also has car parking facilities with direct access to the terminals. There is a reduced rate car park at Viscount Station. It is connected to the airport terminals by the free LINK train. There is also a cell phone waiting lot for those picking up arriving passengers.

Information and Help Desks

Information desks are located in both terminals. Uniformed information representatives are on hand to help with enquiries. Information lines are also available for Terminal 1 (tel: (416) 247 7678) and Terminal 3 (tel: (416) 776 5100).

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: Bureaux de change, ATMs, telephones and Internet access facilities can be found in both terminals.
Eating and drinking: Bars and restaurants are located throughout the airport.
Shopping: There are numerous shops at the airport, including duty-free.
Luggage: Porter service and left-luggage facilities are available in both terminals. Trolleys are available throughout the terminals and parking garages. Both terminals also have lost and found services (tel: (416) 776 7749 for Terminal 1 or 776 7751 for Terminal 3).
Other facilities: A counselling service is available for all passengers. Multi-denominational chapels, medical emergency clinics and baby change facilities are located in all terminals. Shoe-shine services are available in both terminals.

Conference and Business Facilities

There is a fully equipped business center in the Sheraton Gateway Hotel (tel: (905) 672 7000; www.sheraton.com/torontoairport), with 24 meeting rooms for hire, accommodating up to 300 delegates. There is also a choice of five premium lounges.

Facilities for Disabled Travelers

There are lifts, ramps, disabled toilets and TTY telephones in the terminals. When making a flight reservation, travelers should notify the airline of any special assistance request. The inter-terminal LINK train is wheelchair-accessible. Disabled parking spaces are provided in all parking lots.
