Location
The airport is located 21km (13 miles) southwest of Nottingham.
Airport News
A new Radisson Blu hotel, billed as the UK's 'greenest' such property, is scheduled to open in Summer 2011 less than 800 meters (900 yards) from the EMA terminal complex. The airport has recently added a fish therapy spa.
Driving Directions
From Nottingham, take the A52 westbound and join the M1 at junction 25 southbound. Continue southbound and exit at junction 24, then follow signs to the airport.
Car Hire
East Midlands Airport has an exclusive Europcar rental agreement. The car rental center is situated in the Arrivals hall.
Public Transport
Bus: Regular 24-hour Skylink (tel: (0871) 919 9000; www.eastmidlandsairport.com) bus services connect the airport with Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Loughborough, and Coalville. Other services run to local destinations.
Coach: National Express (tel: (08705) 808 080; www.nationalexpress.com) operates services connecting the airport with Sheffield, Leeds, Coventry, Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport.
Taxi: Arrow Cars (tel: (01332 814 000; www.arrowprivatehire.co.uk) are available from the taxi office outside Arrivals, 24 hours a day.
Car Parking
Parking for more than 4,000 cars is available at the airport. The short-stay car park is located outside the main terminal building, and a courtesy shuttle transports passengers to/from the medium and long-stay car parks. There is also a recently introduced 'meet and greet' valet parking service. A car servicing scheme is also available. Information and Help Desks
There is a 24-hour information desk (tel: 0871 919 9000) in the main terminal building. The airport magazine, Flightscene, and Scheduled Flight Guide are available.
Airport Facilities
Money and communications: Telephones, ATMs and two bureau de change are available in the main terminal building. Wi-Fi Internet access is also available in various hot spots throughout the terminal.
Eating and drinking: Cafes, restaurants, a pub, a bar, a sandwich bar and a food village are all available.
Shopping: There are many retail outlets at the airport, including a duty- and tax-free shop.
Luggage: A lost property service is operated by the information desk (tel: 0871 919 9000). Left-luggage facilities are provided by the individual airlines, on request.
Other facilities: These include a first aid room, nursing rooms, children’s play areas, an executive lounge, an aviation museum (the Aeropark), a prayer room and a travel agent.
Conference and Business Facilities
There is an executive lounge, open to all departing passengers for a fee, and offering full business services. Fax and photocopy facilities are available at the information desk for a small charge. Facilities for Disabled Travelers
Porters are available to provide assistance to wheelchair passengers; those wishing to use this service should contact the information desk (tel: 0871 919 9000). Reserved parking is provided in the short-term car park located 50m (164ft) from the terminal building entrance. There are also adapted toilets, lowered phones and a lift, and hearing loops are located throughout the terminal. Wheelchairs and wheelchair-accessible taxis are also available; passengers who require the ambulift for boarding aircraft should notify their airline at the time of booking.
